Joaquin Murrieta Park Groundbreaking

Tucson Mayor Regina Romero, Ward 1 Council Member Lane Santa Cruz, and Tucson Parks and Recreation will break ground on improvement projects for Joaquin Murrieta Park. This groundbreaking ceremony marks a significant milestone in the journey toward enhancing the recreational amenities at this park. The park will be closed beginning Oct. 20, 2023, for approximately 12 months while under construction. It is expected to reopen in late 2024.

Key Projects Under Construction:
New four-field baseball/softball complex with lights
New concessions building
New irrigation on existing softball fields and throughout improvement areas
New splash pad
Two new playgrounds
Demolition of the existing pool
New ramadas
New walking paths
Parking improvements
